My role
I focused on defining the structure of the wallet and shaping how the product should work for different markets.
- Led market research and benchmarking across Europe and Türkiye
- Defined the core features and the extension layer as two separate capability groups
- Worked on product positioning, messaging and user flows
- Designed customer personas and clarified key use cases
- Supported UI and UX direction for onboarding, payments and transfers
- Planned the roadmap, organized JIRA work and cleaned the backlog
- Wrote documentation for internal alignment and external onboarding
- Analyzed regulatory needs (KYC, AML, limits, GDPR) and reflected them in the product
- Worked with engineering to keep the modular structure consistent
Key contributions
- Helped establish the wallet as a modular fintech engine instead of a single app
- Designed a clear two layer structure: core financial engine and customizable capabilities
- Improved user flows for payments, P2P, QR and onboarding
- Supported company wide understanding of European and Turkish compliance needs
- Improved feature clarity through better documentation and product messaging
- Strengthened alignment with sales, engineering and leadership
- Created a cleaner roadmap and more focused development plan
Product architecture
The wallet follows a layered design:
- Core Layer: Accounts, ledgers, KYC, compliance checks, transaction engine
- Extension Layer: QR, NFC, loyalty, P2P, card modules, campaigns, regional add ons
- UI/UX Layer: Modular front end structure for iOS and Android
- SDK Layer: Secure components and reusable building blocks
This architecture helps clients launch quickly while keeping the product flexible for new features.
Impact
- Faster time to market for clients launching a branded wallet
- Clearer separation between core financial logic and optional modules
- Stronger compliance alignment for TR and EU markets
- Easier developer collaboration due to a modular, documented structure
- Better product adoption thanks to clearer flows and messaging
Notable decisions or constraints
- Needed to support many capabilities without making the core heavy
- UX had to stay simple while handling a large set of financial actions
- Compliance requirements shaped onboarding and transaction flows
- Payments and P2P logic had to be both modular and stable
Summary
The white label mobile wallet became a flexible and scalable platform built on a clean core and customizable features. It helped companies launch secure digital payment experiences while adapting to market specific needs.
